We have taken down “Satyamev Jayate mums should have gone on a sex strike” and are issuing an unconditional apology.
Our aim was to point out two things:

Aamir Khan at a press conference after the telecast of his show Satyamev Jayate. AFP
One, that women should always have complete right over their bodies and Two, should be able to set their own thresholds for staying or leaving an abusive marriage or relationship.
The operative word though, is ‘should’.
We were wrong to assume that most can. We know and acknowledge that this is not the reality in most parts of India.
We meant no disrespect to many women who fight a tough and complex social battle everyday.
Sincerely,
FP Editors
