'Beta Sweater Pehno' by Swarathma tells parents to release the pressure

Indian kids are under a lot of pressure from the day they are born. Parents want their kids to be either a doctor or an engineer and that results into an Olympics of academics. Putting on the school uniform in the morning feels like wearing a track suit to deal with the hurdles of expectations of our parents and relatives.

There is extreme academic pressure on students and to highlight this issue Bengaluru-based band Swarathma has joined the ‘Release The Pressure’ movement in collaboration with Mirinda for their ‘No More Pressurepanti, Only Pagalpanti’, campaign. The aim of the campaign is to highlight the immense pressure Indian student’s face during examinations.

Release The Pressure

The music video for ‘Beta Sweater Pehano’ features the band members of Swarathma in school uniforms going through the motions of school life with comic melancholy. This music video highlights the struggles every student has to face on a daily basis because of an over competitive environment at educational institutions.

Vocalist Vasu Dixit who is also the Director of the film says, “We realize that parents always want the best for their teenager. But in the process, they end up putting undue pressure on them to do and be things that may sometimes be unfair. While the music video will take many of the viewers back to school days, we hope it will make parents and teens talk to each other more openly regarding this issue.”

It’s time to release the pressure and say Na…Na…Na…Na…Na…Na…Na ho payega to the absurd demands and expectations dumped on students.
