Albert Einstein: World's greatest Physicist and world's worst husband

Who doesn’t know Albert Einstein? He is after all, the scientist whose discovery of theory of relativity revolutionized the field of physics and branded the E = _mc_2  equation into every students brain. But ever wondered what Einstein was like at home, as a husband? In a new book Einstein: His Life and Universe, Walter Isaacson has described how the world-famous scientist quickly came to the conclusion that maintaining a harmonious love life was a battle he would never win. Getty Images”]  [/caption] Einstein was 24 when he first met 28-year-old Mileva Maric at the Polytechnic in Zurich. Maric was the only female physics major in their college. Soon, they fell in love and got married at Bern City Hall on 6 January, 1903. But when Eistein realised that his 11 year marriage to fellow scientist Mileva Maric was floundering, he proposed that they remain together for the sake of their children, but only if she agree to ‘certain conditions’. D: You will undertake not to belittle me in front of our children, either through words or behavior. Mileva accepted them, but to no avail. His attitude towards her did not change. A few months later, she left her husband in Berlin and moved, with their sons, to Zurich. Einstein never came to visit her. They eventually divorced in 1919.
