The tragic death of the gangrape and sexual assault survivor on Saturday night in Singapore has prompted massive outrage across India. People from all walks of life have joined in the protests after the incident that shook the conscience of the country.

Terming the death of the gangrape survivor as a ‘clarion call’, she said, “We cannot let the anger pass. It will be a greater betrayal. We have to do some soul searching.” The first solution should come from within the family that should treat the women as equals and not deify them as goddesses, something that is part of our schizophrenic society, she added.
Ex-police chief Kiran Bedi said, “She has left a resolved India. Police reforms is the need of the hour. This must remain a persistent demand.”
She suggested some immediate reforms in the police force. She said, “There should be open registration and guaranteed action of any crime against women. While a life has been lost, the life can remain renewed by police reform.”
