Technology empowers learning, but can’t replace teacher: Kalam

Ezhimala (Ker): Former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam today said though technology empowered the learning process, it could not replace a teacher’s role.

Inaugurating a seminar on “Technology-enabled Training” organised by Indian Naval Academy (INA) here, he said “technology empowers the learning process, however, technology cannot replace or one cannot underestimate teacher’s role as he becomes a mentor or facilitator for learning process”.

Kalam advised educational institutions to use more virtual learning tools.

Reminding the youth to think always high, he said our youths would will get more opportunities globally only if they depend on technology.

Commandant of the IA Vice-Admiral Pradeep Chouhan said Armed Forces are conscious of the need to adopt the most modern practices in all areas of training and learning.
