"The team will comprise a senior advisor in the Niti Aayog and a joint secretary from the ministry of home affairs. The prime minister has directed the team to make an assessment of the nature of relief and compensation package, after holding discussions with state and district officials and to submit a report," said a statement from the PMO.

Two landslides in Tawang district on 22 and 23 April killed at least 19 people.

Modi has already sanctioned ex-gratia relief of Rs.2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and Rs.50,000 each to those seriously injured.
