40-year old Kamran Akbar, who is a native of Karachi, Pakistan, has been based in Kolkata since 2007. He was apprehended from near the New Delhi Railway Station on 13 February on a tipoff, a senior police official said.
Akbar was allegedly on a recce of some defence establishments in Delhi and was in possession of some government documents.
Akbar has married an Indian national and also has an Indian passport and voter id.
