The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started the recruitment application process for the post of Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department (IMD) Examination, 2017, media reports said. According to Zee News, the examination was held to help IMD fill 1,100 seats.
The first date of application is 18 July and the last date is 8 August, 2017. Candidates, whose applications are accepted will have to appear for an open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Scientific Assistant in IMD, Group 'B' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post, in the Level 6 of the Pay Matrix.
To be eligible for the application, the candidates will have to be below 30 years of age.
The candidates who match the age criteria can file their applications on the SSC's official website: ssconline.nic.in. Anyone holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subject)/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Computer Applications or a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognised Institution/University or equivalent are eligible to apply.
However, the candidates should have the qualifying degree in First Class (60% marks) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale secured over a period of three three years duration after (10+2) examination.
The applicant must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognised board or equivalent in Science with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.

- Register yourself, follow the instructions and read the payment mode of SBI challan
- Submit the application and take a printout.
