Shiv Sena’s Bal Thackeray admitted to ICU

Mumbai: Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray was  admitted to the ICU of Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. Thackeray had been suffering from breathlessness and acute constipation. He will undergo multiple tests for the same.

He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra on Tuesday. Earlier reports said he was taken there only for routine check-ups.  The 86-year-old Sena patriarch is likely to be in the ICU for a couple of days.

In May, 2012 too he was admitted to the hospital after he complained of discomfort. However, he was discharged after two days.

His son, Uddhav Thackeray,  underwent angioplasty at the same hospital last week and was visited by his cousin, MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
