Gurgaon: Chief Minister Raman Singh of Naxal-hit Chhattisgarh is among a few more political leaders who are set to get the 'Z+' VIP security cover of elite NSG commandos.
A threat perception analysis and assessment of Singh has already been carried out by the force.
"A fresh demand (for providing security) has come from the CM of Chhattisgarh," NSG chief Arvind Ranjan told reporters on the sidelines of a conference at NSG' garrison in Manesar here.
He was asked if NSG would be adding any new VIP to its existing list of 17 protectees.
The Director General added that formal orders in this regard would be made by the Union Home Ministry.
Singh, who is at present guarded by a special police squad of state police, would be provided round-the-clock mobile security cover by NSG when he moves in the state and outside.
Sources said a squad of roughly 20 commandos could be sent for the task.
The Chief Minister travels to interiors of the state and it was felt that he should be provided proximate and close security which the 'black cats' force specialises in, sources said.
