In a major faux pas, photos and videos of Gandhi accidentally entering the ladies washroom took the internet by storm on Thursday.

As a part of his three-day Gujarat visit, Gandhi was in Chhota Udaipur for an event. After the interacting with the public, he headed to a nearby washroom, Zee News reported.

But only after he came out, did his SPG commandos realise that it was indeed the ladies washroom, The Times of India reported. The signboards outside the washroom were written in Gujarati which might have led to the confusion.

Manish Doshi defended Gandhi saying that Gandhi just walked by the ladies washroom, but did not actually enter it.

"The pictures show that Rahul just walked by the ladies washroom but didn't enter it. The photos are being deliberately twisted to show the Congress leader in bad light," state Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi told The Times Of India.

Doshi blamed the BJP for making the photos viral and said that this was another attempt by them to tarnish Gandhi's image.

India Today reported that after Gandhi came out of the washroom, locals burst into laughter and the entire scene was recorded by media personnel present at the venue.
