Almost a month ago, a 24-year-old woman in Punjab's Mukstar was raped. On Friday, the accused, Gurjinder Singh surrendered himself.

According to previous reports about the case in NDTV, A CCTV footage shows the survivor being dragged out of her workplace by a man, who then took her to a farmhouse, raped her and then released her.

According to the report on, the woman was working in a computer centre when the man dragged her out in broad daylight on a street for close to 100 metres. The police only registered a case after five days after the incident and according to the news website, the woman, a Dalit met the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

According to The Hindustan Times, Gurjinder, also known as Jojo lives in Kandu Khera village took the victim to Tapa Khera village and raped her.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Manvinder Singh said that the survivor was "traumatised" and wanted the accused to be given harsh punishment. Speaking to The Hindustan Times, Sumir Kumar, owner of the computer centre who had witnessed the abduction said that the survivor and Gurjinder had been chatting, but soon he abducted her and "started fighting" with the onlookers.
