'Mmm sunlight for breakfast!': We love Isro's Mangalyaan Twitter account

India has joined the list of elite nations who've managed to successfully send a spacecraft into the Mars orbit with its Mangalyaan.

India's Mars Orbiter is already on Twitter.

India's Mars Orbiter is already on Twitter.

So what's next for the India's Mars Orbiter? The answer is of course social media. Like NASA's Curiosity rover which has its own Twitter handle, the Mars Orbiter from India has one as well. Already the Twitter handle which is @MarsOrbiter has close to 10.4K followers and we expect the numbers to grow. The account has been verified by Twitter.

Here are the first few tweets from the Mars Orbiter:

Also the Mars rover Curiosity tweeted out to India's Mars Orbiter saying, "Namaste, @MarsOrbiter! Congratulations to @ISRO and India's first interplanetary mission upon achieving Mars orbit."

To this the Mars Orbiter replied with the following tweet:

Where Curiosity is concerned, the rover has been tweeting pictures about its Mars travels. It's actually quite a fun account and Curiosity has kept the tweets quite witty. Check out some of them below: (The second one has a reference to Megan Trainor's hit song 'All about that Base')

Given how Mars Orbit responded to Curiosity, we're hoping that this one will be a fun account as well.

Meanwhile from NASA to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congratulations have been pouring in for India.

The Prime Minister said, that it was an extremely proud and historic moment not just for the scientists at Isro but for every single Indian. "Through your hardwork you have made it possible to achieve the impossible. History has been created and with today's success, India is the only country to succeed in its very first attempt," he added.

India is also the first country to get a successful Mars mission in its first attempt. NASA too congratulated India on the mission and tweeted out saying, "We congratulate @ISRO for its Mars arrival! @MarsOrbiter joins the missions studying the Red Planet. #JourneyToMars "
