"The fire occurred on the second floor of Annexe building of Parliament following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control," a fire department official said.

The fire was noticed around 1.30 PM. "No causalities or injuries were reported. It appears to be caused by a short circuit. However, the exact cause behind the fire is being investigated," said the official.

The fire led to heavy smoke which filled the corridor of the building.
