Malkangiri: A Maoist was killed and two others were seriously injured when a landmine they were trying to plant exploded on a road in Odisha’s Malkangiri, police said today.

A group of ultras were planting the landmine near Tekguda in Kalimela area, about 55 km from here in the early hours yesterday when the explosion took place, Inspector In-Charge of Malkangiri police station, Anirudh Routray said.
While one of the red rebels died on the spot, two others sustained serious injuries, he said The incident came to light today and combing operation has been intensified in the area, he said.
