People watch the encounter between security forces and a suspected terrorist on Tuesday evening. The ATS operation came hours before the final phase of polling in Assembly election covering 40 seats in eastern Uttar Pradesh. PTI

Anti-terror operations were carried out to get hold of terrorists, suspected to be linked with the Bhopal-Ujjain train blast near Jabdi station in Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday in which at least 10 people were injured, three of them seriously. PTI

Following the Lucknow gunfight, an alert has been sounded at the Lucknow International Airport and at prominent railway stations across the state. Police and intelligence officials have been directed to step up vigil and keep a close watch on busy thoroughfares, malls and markets. PTI
