5:15 pm: Kejriwal announces structure of the party

Kejriwal has said that the youth and women will have a special place in the party and will have a greater say in the functioning of the party.

He has announced that the party will see to involve people in the decision making within the party.

Multiple members of a family can't contest polls and the party's accounts will be transparent, Kejriwal said.

The formal launch of the party is to take place on 26 November and all those who turn up there can become members of the party.

5:00 pm: Kejriwal says that the party constitution approved, to have representatives at district level

Kejriwal says that the party has been formed today and the constitution of the new party has been approved.

The activist turned politician said that the party has formed a national council and will have representatives at the district level.

The party has also created a national vision document which will be released.

"Swaraj will be the objective of the party and it will work to ensure people self govern," Kejriwal said.

2:00 pm: How the name of the Aam Aadmi Party came to be fixed

Meanwhile the Congress said that Kejriwal and group were most welcome to participate in democratic politics and the party's formation would only strengthen the nation's democracy.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari also chose to highlight that the Congress already was the 'aam aadmi's party'.

1:10 pm: Kejriwal still in meeting with core group of supporters, announcement expected in the evening

The meeting between Kejriwal and his close group of supporters is still on and there's no announcement expected till around 4 pm this evening, Firstpost's Danish Raza reports.

We could learn of the party's new name and other details about it after the meeting is over, he reports.

And it may be the party for the aam aadmi, but its not the name of the party yet. Watch this space.

11:20 am Kejriwal  says his party is an Aam Aadmi party, says it will be anti-dynasty and pro-swaraj

According to various media reports, Kejriwal has named his political party as Aam Aadmi party and has said that a large  number of people c have called up said said that they wish to become founding members. "Main hoon Aam Aadmi. Main laoonga swaraj,"  he tweeted this morning, adding that, people are fed up of netas.

" People are fed up of corruption and price rise. This is why the common man has decided to challenge them. Now the common man will sit in Parliament. National Executive will be formed. It will decide the name of the party. To run the party, there will be a National Working Committee. Party's vision is Swaraj. People should get the 'raj'. That vision will be finalised," said Kejriwal today.

Kejriwal party an alternative to dynasty politics, says Yogendra Yadav

11:08 am Arvind Kejriwal team member Yogendra Yadav reiterated this morning that the new political party being formed by Arvind Kejriwal and his collegues will have an internal Lokpal and a provision against dynastic politics.

In an interview with CNN IBN, Yadav said that the new party will be an alternative to dynasty politics. Hence it will not have a  high command structure with families controlling parties. He added that the Party would commit itself to the vision of the constitution of India

Kejriwal to unveil party name, national executive today

9:47 am Anti-corruption activist-turned politician Arvind Kejriwal, along with his 300 colleagues will be meeting in New Delhi today to add the finishing touches to his political party, which will be formally launched on Monday at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

The meeting today comes almost two months after Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan announced the launch of a new political party.

In an exclusive interview with CNN IBN, Kejriwal said  that the members would decide the name of the political party, about which an announcement may be expected on the day itself, the party's 'national executive' that will have 30 members and the Constitution for the party.

The people meeting today will be the first members of the political party.  would be the first members of the political party. . "Through your channel, I would like to invite everyone as it is people's party, it is aam aadmi's party," Kejriwal said.

He added that the party will have a very democratic structure, but details will only be revealed on Monday.

A report in the Times of India says paperwork, including a videotape of Saturday's meeting, 300 affidavits, and other formalities  will be submitted to the within the  Election Commission  next week for registration of the party's name.
