The promise of the meeting has however, did not stop exchanges along the LoC, with an army spokesman saying that Pakistan troops fired on the Indian posts in Nangitikri forward area in the Poonch district around 4.30 pm, after heavy overnight firing in the Krishnagati sub-sector in Poonch.

Meanwhile the wife of the deceased soldier, Lt Lance Naik Hemraj Singh is continuing a hunger strike, saying that she will not eat until the head of her husband is returned to her.

India is expected to demand Singh’s severed head, which it believes was severed and taken away by Pakistani soldiers as a trophy after the grisly attack.
