The 23-year-old gang-rape victim was shifted from the capital’s Safdarjung Hospital at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday and flown out of the country in a special air-ambulance to Singapore.  She was accompanied by her family members and a team of doctors.  The victim will be admitted to Mt. Elizabeth Hospital in the city state, which has a super-speciality multi-organ transplant facility.

Meanwhile, a Commission of Inquiry headed by a former Delhi High court judge to probe the gangrape incident was set up on Wednesday by the Centre which also ordered a probe into allegations of police interference in recording the victim’s statement that has snowballed into a major row.

Coming under severe pressure to uncover the exact reason for the death of Delhi Police constable Subhash Tomar, the Delhi Police brass on Wednesday shifted the investigation to the crime branch.  Tomar’s post mortem report says that he had died due to injuries sustained during clashes with protesters near India Gate on Sunday. “Cause of death of constable Subhash Tomar was due to cardiac arrest caused by injuries inflicted by a blunt object,” a senior Delhi police official said.
