Karuna expresses grief over deaths in Sivakasi fire incident

Chennai: DMK president M Karunanidhi today expressed grief over the loss of lives in a devastating fire at Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district.

Karunanidhi said he had asked party’s district secretary and former Minister KKSSR Ramachandran and other party workers to involve themselves in relief work.

In a statement here, he said that such fatal accidents had become common in Virudhunagar district.

Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family members of the deceased, he also wished speedy recovery of the injured persons.

39 persons died in the fire at a private cracker manufacturing unit at Mudalipatti near Sivakasi yesterday.
