Baba Ramdev who on Sunday threatened a revolution because the government was ignoring his demands that black money be brought back, has turned on the Congress and called on his supporters to join him in a protest outside the Parliament.
“The government has not heard our voices despite fast. We will protest outside Parliament, they should be able to hear our voices from there”, he said, addressing those present at the Ramlila Maidan.
“This government is deaf, dumb and blind. It is in a coma. We don’t want its death it looks that it is approaching its death,” said Ramdev. He will march towards Parliament anytime today.
Ramdev also departed from his past position that he was not against any one individual or political party, turning on the Congress and vowing to remove them from power. “Congress is a sinking ship, other parties of UPA should move away from Congress. We have decided to remove the Congress party from power. We will decide on other political parties depending on their stance”, he said.
He added that his supporters would go to every house to spread what we have decided at Ramlila Maidan to ensure that the corrupt do not get power. “The battle is not over with this. In the next Lok Sabha elections this movement will not allow any corrupy candidates to win.”
The Ramlila ground has been fortified with battalions of the CRPF and Delhi police.
During his agitation at Ramlila last year, Ramdev was hounded from the venue by Delhi police in a mid night crackdown.
Ramdev said Delhi police was not the enemy. “They are just following orders of the higher authorities,” said Ramdev.
Ramdev’s fast was supposed to end on Saturday, but he decided to continue the agitation as he had not received any response from the government. On Sunday he warned of a “Mahakranti” and turned on the UPA government for the first time, accusing the Gandhi family of wanting to preserve Black Money since they benefitted from it the most.
The fourth day of Ramdev’s protest saw erstwhile Team Anna member Kiran Bedi making a presence at the fast venue though Anna Hazare and other members of the team have kept away.
Ramdev also extended an invitation to all parties to join his protest if they agreed with his demands.
