Screengrab of hacked All India Trinamool Congress website
Mamata Banerjee has in the past accused a farmer and a student of being Maoist,s but today was at the receiving end of her own rhetoric when hacker group Anonymous decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. Anonymous has infiltrated the TMC website and amended her speech to make it seem like she was declaring herself to be a member of the insurgency.
“I AM A MAOIST at heart and always have been, It always pained me to speak and act against the ideology that I myself loved so much. I also appologize to the people whom I have hurt, The artist who tried to speak the truth, the writers who saw the right thing and every and any person who tried to tell me I was going in the wrong direction, I am at your feet asking you to forgive me for the misguided acts I have done In life,” read Mamata’s speech on the Trinamool Congress website today.
“I promise to make up for all this by drawing my own cartoons and writing my own blog about what an idiot I have been. I hope the world will find in its heart to forgive me then,” the fictitious speech read.
The hacker group also made the effort of giving a link to a morphed image of Mamata and a link to another document, which cannot be mentioned here. The group also gave a fictitious address to which complaints about the speech could be sent.
The post ends with reference to an “official song”.
And to rub it in and make sure everyone knew what they’d done, Anonymous tweeted about their achievement as well:
At last a world leader listens to anonymous and decides to make great changes Mamata Banerjee Confesses : aitmc.org/chairperson_ar… WE LOVE DIDI

Anonymous has previously hacked the Congress party, BJP and the Supreme Court websites over the issue of Internet freedom.
Mamata Banerjee has been accused of curbing personal liberties after she recently ordered the arrest of a farmer, accusing him of being a Maoist, after he questioned the government’s work.
Earlier, while recording a television debate show, Banerjee had called the audience Maoists.
