A major fire broke out at a matchbox and cracker godown in Gurgaon's Sadar Bazar on Tuesday evening. Though fire fighters managed to douse the fire, the three floored building in the old city's main market was razed to the ground.
"We got call at 6.35 pm at our fire station about fire, following fire tenders were rushed to the spot and we managed to control fire and stop it from spreading to adjoining buildings," fire station officer, Bilbar Sharma told The Times of India.
According to NDTV, fire fighters initially found it difficult to reach the spot due to the crowded market. A senior official told NDTV that an inquiry will be held into Gurgaon'show a fire cracker warehouse was set up in the crowded market.
