Govt to look into Joshi’s request for enhanced security

Jul 9, 2012

New Delhi:The government is examining the request of former BJP leader Sanjay Joshi, a known detractor of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who has sought enhanced security claiming threat to his life.

“We have sent the letter to the concerned department. We are examining it,” Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh told reporters here today.

The government is examining Sanjay Joshi’s request of enhanced security.

He was replying to a question on Joshi’s letter to the Home Ministry seeking more security as, he claimed, he was facing fresh threat to his life.

In his letter, Joshi claimed he had received fresh threat calls on his mobile phone from three different numbers and also through letters. Joshi had written the letter on June 14, a week after he was forced to resign from BJP following his reported differences with the Gujarat Chief Minister.
