A major fire broke out at the Finance Ministry’s North Block office in New Delhi today.
According to a NDTV report, fire broke out in room number 14 and 15 of the Finance Ministry’s office at around 5.45 am.

Six fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. The fire was doused by 7 am.
However, all files and furniture in the two rooms were gutted by then.
“All the records present in the two rooms which caught fire, in the cupboards and otherwise, have been destroyed,” a fire official told CNN-IBN.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. The police probe is on and an assessment of the damage caused is being done.
