Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh pays his tribute to Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad. The late soldier was being treated at the Research and Referral Army Hospital in Delhi but passed away due to multi organ failure. The oxygen-deprived cells of his body were not able to cope with metabolism pressure when glucose was administered to him in a bid to stabilise him, said Lt. General S.D. Duhan, director of the hospital. PTI

Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad's wife Mahadevi and mother Basamma Koppad attend his funeral in New Delhi on Thursday. In a message to the soldier's mother, "Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey them to the members of your family. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi offers his condolences to Lance Naik Koppad's family.
