The Delhi police have written a letter to Team Anna, asking them to ensure the well being of fasting members of its team, and warning them that Kejriwal’s refusal to have medical attention or be admitted to hospital was in direct contravention to the terms of agreement under which the police gave them permission for the fast.
The letter, addressed to Neeraj Kumar, an organiser with the India against Corruption group, also says that the team would have to bear full responsibility for any adverse consequences that may arise because of Kejriwal’s refusal to cooperate with medical authorities.

The police also asked the team to stop making inflammatory speeches, referring to a statement by Kejriwal earlier this morning, when he told the crowds at Jantar Mantar that he would not allow himself to be hospitalised in a government hospital and said all others who had been taken to hospital by the government had later died.
Citing examples of other leaders who had been taken to government hospitals while fasting, Kejriwal said, “Whenever the government takes someone to hospital while they’re fasting, they die. I suspect there is a deeper conspiracy when the government wants to take me to the hospital.”
“We are not sitting to commit suicide,” Kejriwal said. He said he was feeling weak but none of his health parameters had worsened.
The anti-corruption activist said they would not give the health reports of any of the activists on the fast to government doctors either since they did not trust their opinion any more.
“If the govt puts me in a hospital then it is your responsibility to get me out of there,” he told the assembled crowd at Jantar Mantar. It hasn’t stopped the activists from keeping an ambulance on standby.
Anna Hazare, who is also part of the hunger strike, supported Kejriwal’s claims and also alleged that there was a conspiracy by the government to admit them to hospitals in order to end their protest.
“Arvind is fighting for the nation. It is a conspiracy by the government to admit him to a hospital. We will not allow it,” he said.
