A 26-year-old woman in Gurugram's Manesar area was allegedly gang-raped by seven men on Tuesday, reports quoted police as saying. Reportedly, she was duped by an acquaintance on the promise of getting her a better job, India Today TV reported. All seven accused have been held, the police was quoted as saying by the media.
The woman, who was working as a domestic help in Gurugram, said in her complaint that one her acquaintance called her to Manesar on the pretext of getting her a better job at around 7.30 pm on Tuesday. He then left the woman with another person, who apparently posed as the supervisor of the company, where the woman was promised a job. The 'supervisor' then took her to a room in Shankar Ki Dhani village near Bilaspur, where she said six men raped her, through Tuesday night, according to a report in The Times of India.
The report further said that the woman was able to flee early on Wednesday morning, when the men were asleep. She later lodged a complaint, following which the police has arrested all seven accused, including the woman's acquaintance.
This is not the first such instance in the National Capital Region. In January this year, two women were allegedly gang-raped inside a poultry farm in Mandpura, Pataudi area of Gurugram. Six men had barged into the farm where they looted the residents and gangraped two women there, according to a report in The New Indian Express.
