Vinoo Mankad Trophy: Bhui slams ton as Andhra win

Bangalore, Oct 21 (IANS) A knock of 105 (106 balls, 8×4, 5×6) by Ricky Bhui carried Andhra to a 17-run win over Hyderabad in the South Zone Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under-19 cricket tournament here Sunday.

Batting first, Andhra made 266 all out in their allotted 50 overs while Hyderabad were dismissed for 249 and the winners came away with four points.

In other matches, Tamil Nadu easily beat Goa by eight wickets in a match reduced to 35 overs while hosts Karnataka overcame Kerala by seven wickets to pouch four points.

Goa 77 all out in 30 overs (Aswin Crist 3/20, Koushik J 3/16) lost to Tamil Nadu 78 for 2 in 18.3 overs (Sharukh Khan 33 not out, Aparajith B. 30 not out, Lakshay Garg 2/33). Points: Tamil Nadu 5, Goa minus 1.

Kerala 143 for 9 in 25 overs (Sanju Vishwanadh 84, Prateek Jain 2/31, M.G. Naveen 3/41) lost to Karnataka 144 for 3 in 23.1 overs (Shreyas Gopal 41, Kranthi Kumar 56 not out, K.N. Bharath 27 not out). Points: Karnataka 4, Kerala 0.

Andhra 266 all out in 50 overs (G Jayavardan 20, K. Bharath 36, K. Shindhe 68, Ricky Bhui 105, c.S. Teja 2/45, Abhishek Ashok 5/55) beat Hyderabad 249 all out in 48.3 overs (Tanmay Agarwal 41, Vihari GH, 39, G.Rahul Singh 43, V.M. Anandpally 49, A. Ramesh Reddy 2/52, C. Sneha Kishore 2/52, P. Srikrishna 2/34). Points: Andhra 4, Hyderabad 0.
