UK mom wakes from coma with no memory of hubby, kids

London: A mother of three in UK has woken up from a ten day coma convinced that she was a teenager again, with no memories of her husband or children.

Sarah Thomson, 32, from Exeter, suffered a burst blood clot on her brain which wiped out 13 years of memories.

As she woke up from coma, Thomson thought the Spice Girls were still together, was “shocked” to discover that Michael Jackson had died and had never heard of Simon Cowell, ‘The Telegraph’ reported.

Thomson assumed that her husband Chris was a hospital worker as he was always in her room, and had to “fall in love all over again”.

“When the children came to see me I just had no idea who they were, I thought they were somebody else’s children,” she said.

“I kept calling them the wrong names, and had no idea why they were so pleased to see me. Eventually I asked if they were mine, and when I was told I couldn’t believe it.

“When the rest of my family came to see me I took one look  at my brother and said, you’re bald. I told my parents how rough they looked too, It was like they’d aged overnight,” Thomson said.

She said she had no idea where she was and got a shock when she looked in the mirror.

“I was completely in my own little world,” she added.

“It was very hard for me to try and reconnect with me. I watched videos and looked at pictures to try and remember what I used to be like with them, but sometimes its like watching a different person,” she said.

Thomson suffered a blood clot as a result of an Arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a collection of malformed connections between arteries and veins which can burst at any time.

She described how she had been looking at photographs on a computer last November when she “felt something ping” at the back of her neck.

Thomson started to lose her vision and went to bed. The last thing she remembers is being in an ambulance.
