Pleasant Wednesday in Delhi, rain likely Thursday

by Jan 16, 2013

New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) It was a pleasant day in the national capital Wednesday with the maximum temperature soaring four notches above the season’s average at 24.1 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has forecast rain Thursday.

“The sky will be partly cloudy and rain is expected Thursday. We are also expecting hail,” an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The minimum temperature Wednesday settled at 8.3 degrees Celsius — a notch above the average for this time of the year.

Thursday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 21 and 9 degrees Celsius, the IMD official said.

The city was wrapped in a light mist early Wednesday, which delayed several trains. However, flight schedule remained unaffected.
