Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan and Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan Wednesday condoled the death of renowned sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, who passed away in a US hospital.

Sankaranarayanan said: “Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar was one of the greatest Indian musicians who popularized Indian classical music at the global level.”
Added Chavan: “The country has lost a great international musician who introduced the Indian classical music to the Western world.”
