New Delhi: Economic Affairs Secretary R Gopalan is likely to get another two-month extension till September 30.

Gopalan, a 1976 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, who was to retire on April 30, had earlier got a three-month extension till July 31.
“Gopalan is likely to get another extension for two months till September,” a finance ministry official said.
Gopalan, who took charge as DEA Secretary, in February last year has played an important role in formulation of the 2012-13 Budget which was unveiled in March by the then Finance
Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
Prior to his appointment as DEA secretary, Gopalan was secretary in the Department of Financial Services.
