Gibb refused cancer scans: wife

by Aug 19, 2012

London, Aug 19 (IANS) Singer Robin Gibb, who died of cancer in May, could have saved himself if he had got scans done at the right time, his wife Dwina says.

Gibb battled liver and colon cancer after it was detected in 2010. But he ignored them and died May 20 this year.

“He didn’t want to stop. I said, ‘Please just have the scan.’ Despite all his wonderful ways, Robin could be very stubborn and he never liked bad news and he just didn’t want to know,” dailymail.co.uk quoted Dwina as saying.

“He went to do a show in New Zealand as they’d just experienced an earthquake. Maybe it was very important for him to do that show but it was still important for him to have his scans,” she added.
