Rajasthan to introduce free medical testing in hospitals

Jaipur: After free generic medicines scheme, people in Rajasthan are likely to get free testing facility in government hospitals.

Speaking at a function to mark the first anniversary of free generic medicines scheme here, state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the government wish to introduce free testing scheme in hospitals and it will look into its aspects.

He said that the results of the free medicines schemes in one year were very encouraging and the number of patients in government hospitals has increased by more than 50 per cent.

Health minister A A Khan said that almost 400 types of medicines and surgical items were being made available under the scheme in all the government hospitals, health centres across the state.

Khan said that the government plans to add 200 types of medicines in the scheme.
