Four killed in China stabbing, arson attack

Beijing, Aug 4 (IANS) Four people were killed in a suspected stabbing and arson attack in northeast China’s Heilongjiang province Saturday, police said.

The incident took place in a residential area in Harbin, the provincial capital of Heilongjiang, around 6.30 a.m., Xinhua reported.

Police said the suspect, surnamed Xing, stabbed a man surnamed Liao after a financial dispute and then set fire to the room they were in.

Three people in the room suffocated to death. The arsonist also died in the fire, but the stabbing victim survived. The fire was extinguished 15 minutes later.
