Fire bombs were thrown at the offices of Italy’s tax enforcement agency Equitalia in the port city of Livorno, police told Reuters on Saturday without adding further details.
Italian news agency ANSA said the Molotov cocktail bombs had damaged the office’s facade.
Public anger against Equitalia is rising in crisis-hit Italy, where the government of Mario Monti has increased taxes to fight spiralling public debt. Anarchists have also targeted Equitalia with letter bombs in recent months.
