by Jul 22, 2012

Hyderabad, July 22 (IANS) Gujarat schoolgirl Mira Kirit Erda of Team Maini Racing took the honours in the Micro Max category while teammates Kush Maini (Juniors) and Chittesh Mandody (Mohite’s Racing, Seniors) topped in their respective categories in the second round of the JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship here Sunday.

Overcast sky and cooler temperatures made for near-perfect racing conditions as Mira clinched the title in a dominating style from two Mohite Racing entries Pradyum V. Dandigond and HB. Phaneesh.

In the Junior Max finals, Maini had to stave off a strong challenge from Team Rayo Racing’s Nayan Chatterjee who finished a close second after conceding lead at the last corner. Arya Gandhi, also of Rayo Racing came in third.

Defending champion Mandody ruled the Senior Max category as he won quite easily, sparing three seconds to Rayo Racing’s Anshuman Channeterjee, who finished ahead of team-mate Ameya Bafna.
