Berhampur: Altogether 200 cases were reported in Odisha, health officials today said dengue was not in an epidemic form in the state.
“The disease is not spreading like an epidemic. Dengue cases are reported in sporadic manner,” director of health services, Tibikram Panda said in Berhampur.

Panda and the joint director, health and in-charge of vector borne disease Nirmala Kumari Dei visited Ganjam, the worst affected district in dengue.
Besides reviewing the anti-larva measures taken by the district administration to arrest the spread of dengue with the officials, the health officers also visited several areas, including Berhmpur town.
The health director said while 200 cases were reported from different districts in the state by 10 September, 108 of them were confirmed dengue cases.
He said the highest number of dengue positive cases were reported from Ganjam district.
The government has taken several anti-dengue measures involving other department officials to prevent the spread of the disease, said the joint-director of health.
“The people should aware about the cause of the spread of the dengue and take necessary steps to prevent its spread,” she added.
