‘Dark Knight Rises’ composer writes song for Aurora victims

Jul 31, 2012

Los Angeles: Hans Zimmer, the composer behind The Dark Knight Rises, has written a song called ‘Aurora’ as a tribute to the shooting victims.

It was Zimmer’s score playing in the background when the gunman opened fire on the audience watching a midnight show of the Batman film in Denver.

“‘Aurora’ is dedicated to those who lost their lives and were affected by the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. I recorded this song in London in the days following the tragedy as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families. 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Aurora Victim Relief
organization,” Zimmer said in a Facebook post.

James Holmes killed 12 people and injured 58 others in a mass shooting on July 20.
