Salman presented with Audi Q7 for Bodyguard’s success

Dec 8, 2011

Mumbai: German car maker Audi, acknowledging the box office success of Bollywood film Bodyguard, has presented an Audi Q7 SUV to actor Salman Khan here.

“I am happy and I thank them (Audi) for giving me this car. It is beautiful. We have used this car in the film and now they have given it to me in real life also…

“I wish in every film we get a car so we don’t have to spend money on cars,” Salman told reporters here after he was handed over the sleek white SUV by Audi (India) Head Michael Perschke at a function here.

The car was extensively used by Salman and Kareena Kapoor in the movie that emerged as one of the highest grossers of Bollywood this year.

In a tongue-in-cheek remark, the Dabangg star even said co-actress and his ex-flame Katrina Kaif too has the similar model of Audi.

Referring to some of the accidents involving his cars in the past, the actor quipped, “Mere gaadi ke experience woh wale bahut rahe hai (I have had those kinds of experiences a lot with cars)”.

One person was killed and four others sleeping on a pavement in suburban Bandra were injured when Salman’s Toyota Land Cruiser allegedly rammed into a bakery on the night of 28 September, 2002.

In another incident, Salman’s car met with a minor accident around Deolali railway station, about 10 kms from Nashik, where he was shooting.
