Aug 28, 2012

Dhanbad (Jharkhand): A senior official of the Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) was today arrested by CBI sleuths for allegedly accepting bribe from a civil contractor at Jharia of the district.

“B P Gabai, an Assistant Finance Manager of BCCL’s Eastern Jharia Coalfield in Bhora area, was caught red handed while accepting Rs 20,000 from a civil contractor, Sugriv Singh around 11 am at his (official’s) office,” CBI’s Superintendent of Police (Dhanbad) P K Majhi said here.

CBI arrested a BCCL official to taking bribe.

He said the agency’s anti-corruption wing laid a trap after the contractor lodged a complaint with the CBI accusing the BCCL official of demanding money for the last several days.

Gabai was produced before a local court, which sent him to 14 days judicial remand, he added.
