Bangalore: Popular Kannada actor Darshan, arrested for assaulting and threatening his wife, was today taken to Paarapana Agrahara Jail here following his discharge from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) where he was undergoing treatment.
The police took him into custody from the state-run RGICD where the actor was undergoing treatment for jaundice and asthma since 10 September.
Darshan, who was arrested on 9 September following his wife Vijaylakshmi’s complaint, was denied bail by the sessions court yesterday. Earlier, a magisterial court also had rejected Darshan’s bail application.
Meanwhile, Darshan has moved the Karnataka High Court praying for bail.
Hospital Director Dr Sashidhar Buggi told PTI that the actor’s condition had improved. “We have taught him how to take medicines orally. He is fit enough now and has been discharged,” he said.
