Harpreet has played in the IPL earlier for the Sahara Pune Warriors.

Harpreet has represented India under-19s in the past. He had a consistent run in the domestic limited-overs competitions for Madhya Pradesh and finished as the leading run-scorer of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter-Zonal tournament for Central Zone in 2016-17. Harpreet's inclusion also allows RCB to rotate its squad with good Indian talents.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's next encounter is against the Kolkata Knight Riders on 23 April in Kolkata.
