The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in a statement, said that Umesh has a right hip injury and lower back soreness but should recover by the second week of April.

KKR play the Glenn Maxwell-captained Kings XI Punjab on 13 April at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in their first home match after they take on Gujarat Lions (7 April) and Mumbai Indians (April 9) away.

There were reports that Umesh might skip the first phase of the cash-rich league after a marathon Test season with India. The BCCI had earlier advised Umesh, and his India teammate Ravindra Jadeja a two-week rest to recuperate after a stressful home season.

“R Jadeja & Umesh Yadav — have been advised rest for 2 weeks to recuperate. Jadeja has issues with the spinning finger & Umesh has right hip and lower back soreness and they will recover during the initial phase when their respective teams will play their first and second match of IPL 2017,” the BCCI had said.

Mysore on Saturday tweeted, "Hearty congrats @y_umesh. Exceptional perf 4 #TeamIndia. Enjoy the well deserved break. C u in Kol fresh & recharged on April 10! @KKRiders."

Pressed further on if he would be available for selection for the 13 April match, Mysore told IANS: "Yes. He will be available for selection."

Umesh took 17 wickets in the four-Test series against Australia while India won 2-1.
