India vs Sri Lanka, 1st Test, Day 4: Dimuth Karunaratne, Niroshan Dickwella halt visitors' progress at tea

Galle: Sri Lanka reached 192-4 in their second innings at tea on the fourth day of the opening Test against India at Galle on Saturday.

Chasing 550 to win after India declared at 240-3 in their second innings, Sri Lanka were 29-2 but the hosts fought back to cross the 200-mark, courtesy Dimuth Karunaratne (85) and Niroshan Dickwella (48).

At the break, Karunaratne and Dickwella were at the crease with Sri Lanka still requiring 358 runs to win.

Earlier in the day, India captain Virat Kohli notched up his 17th century before declaring the visitors innings with the score reading 240/3. Abhinav Mukund also scored 81 runs and ended his rough patch since his comeback to the Test side.
