Visakhapatnam: The fifth one-day cricket match between India and New Zealand would be held at ACA-VDCA cricket stadium in Vizag on 29 October and rain threat won't affect the match, organisers said.

Addressing a press conference, head of the organizing committee and chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust, M T Krishna Babu, said all precautions were being taken and forecast of rain due to cyclone `Kyant' over Bay of Bengal won't affect the match.

Both teams had arrived here and they will have some practice on Saturday, he said.

Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association secretary G Gangaraju said the pitch was in good condition, and the stadium had the latest equipment to clear the water if it rained.

Fifty percent of the tickets were sold so far, he said.

There was no rain in the last two days.

Police commissioner T Yoganand said that necessary security arrangement had been made and 2,000 security personnel would be deployed on the day of the match.

The MeT office on Friday said rain or thunder-showers are likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

India Meteorological Department had said on Thursday that cyclone 'Kyant' was unlikely to make a landfall, but coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha may expect a wet Diwali.
