How does Ravi Shastri's annual salary of Rs 8 crore compare with previous India coaches?

FP Sports, Jul, 19 2017

With an estimated annual salary of Rs 8 crore, Ravi Shastri is the highest earning coach of the Indian cricket team ever, if reports are to be believed. His predecessor, Anil Kumble, earned approximately Rs 6.5 crore.

Shastri's annual earnings dwarf those of John Wright, who coached the team from 2000 to 2005, and is reported to have earned Rs 80 lakh. Wright's replacement, Greg Chappell, who handled the team from 2005 to 2007, had a reported annual pay-cheque of Rs 1 crore.

Shastri, who served as the Indian team's director from August 2014 to June 2016, was picked as a replacement for Kumble after the former leg-spinner had a falling out with certain members of the Indian team, including captain Virat Kohli. Shastri, on the other hand, is understood to share a healthy rapport with the players.
