New Delhi: Delhi batsman Mohit Ahlawat created history by becoming the first batsman to score a triple century in the Twenty20 format across levels .

The 21-year-old wicket-keeper batsman achieved this historic feat in a local T20 tournament at Delhi’s Lalita Park while playing for Maavi XI against Friend’s XI.

Mohit’s unbeaten 300 came off just 72 balls and was laced with a staggering 39 sixes and 14 boundaries. At the end of 18 overs, he was on 250 and in the next two overs, he went on to score 50 runs –including 34 runs off the last over. He hit five consecutive sixes off the last five balls of the innings.

Mohit’s heroic effort led his side to a mammoth score of 416 at the end of 20 overs.

Mohit burst onto the scene in 2015 where he made his debut for Delhi against Rajasthan. The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman has just appeared three matches so far for Delhi, scoring just five runs.

However, The highest score of T20 cricket (not including club cricket) belongs to West Indian batsman Chris Gayle who had slammed an unbeaten 175 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013. In T20 Internationals, Australia's Aaron Finch holds the record most runs in an innings by smashing 156 against England in 2013.

Apart from Mohit, Gaurav went on score 86 runs for Maavi XI.

Among the most memorable T20 knocks is the 277 off 72 balls scored by Dhanuka Pathirana in a local T20 league in Lancashire, England. The Sri Lankan first-class player smashed 29 sixes and 18 fours in that match.
