Pakistan Vs World XI Live Score (T20)

Date: Tuesday, 12 September 2017 Venue: Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore Match Status: Match Ended

Pakistan beat World XI by 20 runs

  • World XI made a slight comeback by picking up 3 wickets in quick succession. However Shoaib Malik's breezy cameo of 38 runs in the end gave his side the needed finishing touches. Imad Wasim too chipped in, in the last over, scoring 21 in it. Perera picked up a couple of wickets but gave away 51 runs in his 4 overs. Morkel, Tahir and Cutting were the others to pick up a wicket but they were expensive as well. The fielding too wasn't that great to support their bowlers. Join us back for the chase!
  • 64 runs in the last 5 overs have ensured that Pakistan put a big score on the board! After losing Zaman in the first over, Babar Azam stepped in and took the responsibility on himself. He kept attacking the opposition and didn't play a single loose shot. Ahmed Shehzad struggled at the other end but still managed to stitch a 122-run stand for the second wicket.
  • 19.6 SIX! Wasim finishes with a maximum! Back of a length delivery, angling across. Sits up nicely for Imad, who goes back and smashes it with authority over long on for a biggie. 21 runs off the last over! PAKISTAN END ON 197/5!
  • 19.5 Wasim stands tall and flat-bats it towards long on for a brace.
  • 19.4 SIX! Great pick-up shot from Wasim! Full on the pads, Wasim just flicks it away. His wristwork is superb and the ball flies over the fence. Amazing shot this, from Imad!
  • 19.3 Leg bye! Length delivery on the pads, Ashraf fails to get bat on it. The ball hits the thigh pad and rolls away. A leg bye is taken.
  • Fahim Ashraf walks in at number 7. He is making his T20I debut.
  • 19.2 OUT! Bowled 'em! Perera has his revenge! He bowls a length delivery around off, the ball doesn't bounce much. Malik looks to adjust as he looks to pull it across the line. Fails to adjust and the ball brushes the pads and hits the woodwork. Shoaib is disappointed but he has played a gem of a cameo.
  • 19.1 SIX! That's been hammered! Perera bowls with a slightly slinging action, goes for the yorker but misses his mark. Ends up bowling a full toss. Malik gets in the position and clobbers it over mid-wicket for a maximum. He took full toll of that. Malik's cameo in the end can very well be the difference tonight!
  • 18.6 Malik makes room for himself, Cutting follows him with an angling in delivery. Shoaib manages to punch it towards mid off for a single. 176/4
  • 18.5 Shortish delivery, dabbed in the cover region for a single.
  • 18.4 The batsman works it down the leg side. They pick up a single.
  • 18.3 FOUR! Hat-trick of boundaries! This is really poor bowling from Cutting. He bowls a back of a length delivery, angling down leg. Malik swivels and pulls in the fine leg region. Places it finer and the man at fine leg can't get to it. 12 runs off the over already.
  • 18.2 FOUR! More hammering for Cutting! He bowls it a touch shorter outside off, Malik makes room and cuts it hard through point. Hits it fiercely and the ball races away to the fence.
  • 18.1 FOUR! Poor bowling, punished! Full but on the pads, Malik gets inside the line and delicately glances it fine down the leg side for a boundary. Just the start Pakistan wanted!
  • Ben Cutting is back on for his final over!
  • Imad Wasim is the new man in! He's known for his big hits and Pakistan need them to finish on a high.
  • 17.6 OUT! Slower one does the trick for Perera! He bowls a slower bouncer around off. Sarfraz dances down the track and looks to slash it away. Gets a feather and Paine behind the stumps accepts it gleefully. The skipper departs without scoring much. Thisara is delighted to get a wicket. 161/4
  • 17.5 Back of a length outside off, run down to short third man for a single.
  • 17.4 FOUR! Malik is in the mood! He gets across, Perera goes for the wide yorker but gets his length wrong. Once again Shoabi bends his knees and smashes it through cover-point for a boundary. He has got it going now.
  • 17.3 SIX! This time Malik connects! Perera bowls a back of a hand slower one, full outside off. Shoaib bends his knees and spanks it over long off. Clears the man in the deep for his first maximum. Pakistan need more of these to finish on a high.
  • 17.2 Full outside off, Malik takes the stance to thwack it but gets it off the toe end to mid off.
  • 17.1 Angling into the pads, clipped with soft hands behind square on the leg side for a single.
  • Thisara Perera to bowl the 18th over. He's not known to be economical at the death, will he change that perception today?
  • 16.6 Another slower ball on the shorter side. Ahmed is early into his shot as he doesn't expect it to be a slower one. Mistimes it and the ball falls in the square leg region. Another single is taken. Six singles from the over! 149/3
  • 16.5 Another short ball, another single. Morkel once again takes the pace off the ball. Pulled to deep square leg for a single.
  • 16.4 Slower short delivery, Ahmed flat-bats it through wide mid on for a single.

  • 16.1 Wide outside off, glided to third man for a single.
  • Morne Morkel is back for his last over.
  • 15.6 Played to mid-wicket region by the batsman. One run added to the total. 143/3
  • Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed strides out to bat.
  • 15.5 OUT! Tahir gets his man! End of a superb knock from Babar Azam! Tossed up around middle and off, the ball spins away. Azam kneels down to slog sweep against the spin. Doesn't connect it off the meat and the ball flies high in the air. Fails to get the distance behind it and Miller at deep mid-wicket, gets underneath it and gobbles the catch with ease. Babar departs but he has done his job. Now, it's his teammates' job to provide the end flourish to this platform.
  • 15.4 Tossed up around middle, turned on the leg side for another run.
  • 15.3 Punched off the back foot by the batsman towards long on for a single.
  • 15.3 FIVE WIDES! Poor keeping from Paine! Anticipating the batsman to give him the charge, Tahir bowls a leg spinner wide outside off. Azam leaves it and the ball spins further away. Paine is unable to collect it and the ball races away to the third man fence. Runs being gifted to the hosts!

  • 14.2 Length ball around middle and leg, Azam works it away towards square leg for a run.
  • Shoaib Malik walks in next. He needs to get going from the word go!
  • 14.1 OUT! Stunning Sammy takes a brilliant catch! Cutting bowls a back of a length ball around off and middle, Shehzad goes back and just plays a tired pull. The ball goes towards deep square leg, where Sammy runs in and dives forward to catch it inches above the ground. Ahmed was tired and was cramping at the end of the previous over. So that might have been a contributory to his downfall. This ends the 122-run stand! The bowling change works. Chance for World XI to stem the run flow now!
  • Ben Cutting is back on for another spell.
  • Ahmed Shehzad is now struggling with his fitness as well. He has started to cramp up. It's very humid out there but he has faced just 33 balls. He has had such issues in the past as well. The physio is out to treat him and Shehzad now seems fine to continue.
  • 13.6 Darren bowls it around middle, Azam plays it towards wide long on for a brace. 130/1
  • 13.5 SIX! Nonchalant, brilliant, maximum! Sammy bowls it full on middle and leg, Azam just lifts it over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. The ball goes just over the fielder in the deep. Too good to watch the shot though.

  • 12.3 Short ball around off, Azam pulls it behind square on the leg side. Tahir gets there from deep square leg, puts in the slide and manages to save a couple of runs for his side.
  • 12.2 DROPPED! Azam gets a life! Morkel bowls it on a length around off, Azam looks to just lift it over mid off. Miller backtracks from there, gets to the ball but is unable to hold on to that. He has a second attempt at that but still fails to cling on. Would have been a stunner had he taken that. A couple of runs taken.
  • 12.1 Bowls it around off, Shehzad drives it through covers for a run.
  • Morne Morkel is back on for another spell. Will he be able to break this flourishing stand?

  • 11.1 FOUR! Not the greatest of deliveries to start your spell! Sammy runs in and bowls it on the pads. Shehzad just helps it away through fine leg for a boundary. Welcome in the line of attack, Sammy!
  • Darren Sammy into the attack.
  • 10.6 SIX! Out comes the biggie! Tahir tosses this up around off and middle, Azam charges down and just belts it over the bowler's head. High and handsome! The first biggie of the innings. 95/1

  • 6.5 Short and wide outside off, Shehzad looks to cut but ends up chopping it behind point. He runs across for a single but is lazy in his approach. A shy at the bowler's end forces Ahmed to dive in. The throw is wide and a single is completed with ease.
